Restaurant Review: Claw BBQ
It's lunchtime and as we find our way to our allocated table in Claw BBQ, it's refreshing to see just how much the natural light from outside illuminates and accentuates the minimal interiors of the eatery. Claw BBQ is a small, intimate dining space that is ideal for a weekend outing, should you want quick bites of burgers, sandwiches, tacos or grills. Even within its limited range, the menu looks wholesome and my partner was particularly excited about the range of grills. We began with the good, old chicken wings and proceeded to Buffalo chicken burger, both cooked to perfection. In grills, we order a portion of lamb chops and charcoal grilled chicken - the tenderness of the lamb being particularly impressive. Here's our take
Taste: Almost everything we tried was delicious. But if you happen to visit Claw BBQ, the grills would be highly recommended. It also has some amazing range of desserts. From lemon pies to banana cake, you are likely to be spoilt for choice. We settled for the classic New York cheesecake, thereby ending the meal on a sugar high.
Ambience: The interiors are jazzy, but not over the top. During the daytime, there was minimal lighting, and just about enough sunlight was enough to have a cosy, sit-down meal. Tables were kept at a good distance from each other, which also meant a quieter environment.
Service: Top notch, The servers were careful to check our plates weren't empty at any point. They were also helpful with suggestions and would explain in detail what went into the making of a dish.
Presentation: Despite the limitations that grills often present in terms of presentation, due efforts were made to make the platter look more pleasing to the eye. The inclusion of greens as sides also made it look more colourful.
Value for money: At Dh340 for two people with beverages, it's definitely value for money. Please also bear in mind that the portions are quite huge and you might end up sharing the platter. A meal here is for those times when you want an elaborate feast.
