An official has responded to the situation.
With the region witnessing heavy rainfall resulting in water logging in several parts of the country, residents are naturally curious to find out how authorities are handling the drainage water.
A senior official with the Department of Public Works has responded to the situation.
Ahmad Hamad, an advisor to the department, said all the drained water is offloaded in specific reservoirs.
“The millions of gallons collected from all the roads of the emirate are discharged into these reservoirs to help increase our underground water balance.”
"When full, the surplus water is poured into the sea," he added.
“Up to 167 workers are on-call round the clock to attend to all emergency cases and drain out all accumulated rainwater from the roads and squares of the emirate.”
Police issues advisory: The RAK Police have issued warnings in Arabic, English, and Urdu to the public on the weather conditions on their social media accounts.
“The public is urged to call (999) in case of emergency and (901) in regular cases.”
