Video: Week-long event to celebrate 50 years of UAE

The UAE has announced a week-long nation-wide event to celebrate the journey of the country's founding fathers. The UAE Innovates event will celebrate 50 years of the Union of the seven Emirates.

2021 is the golden jubilee of the UAE's founding.

The event from February 21 to 27 sees on-ground and virtual events, conversations and initiatives.

A video shared by the UAE Government said the "biggest national innovation event" will gather all society members to find "scalable solutions to the current challenges". It will design projects that will shape "the future of the UAE".

It will celebrate 50 "years of our union; a nation that knows no impossible" and is "driven by inclusion, inspiration and innovation".
