Dubai to celebrate International Day of Happiness with Happiness Journey
Happiness Journey features interactive, multi-sensory and motivational sessions, cognitive experiences and workshops.
"The second edition of the Happiness Journey - held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council - confirms the UAE's government commitment to the legacy of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who believed that the happiness of society is a sustainable national treasure," confirmed Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Wellbeing, Director General of the Prime Minister's Office.
"The UAE continues to build on the great values of the founding father, under the leadership of The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the continuous consultation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces," confirmed Al Roumi, before the launch of the Happiness Journey on March 15, coinciding with the International Day of Happiness on March 20.
Al Roumi stressed that "the Happiness Journey marks a stepping stone to consolidate our efforts and promote the culture and practices of happiness and wellbeing in the society by focusing on five main themes: mind wellbeing, physical wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, gastronomy and arts."
The minister confirmed that the Happiness Journey features interactive, multi-sensory and motivational sessions, cognitive experiences and workshops, which highlight the five themes and how each theme is linked to the happiness and wellbeing of people, giving participants the opportunity to understand the nature of these relationships and their direct impact on their own happiness and wellbeing.
Al Roumi explained that the Happiness Journey is a community initiative organized by the National Program for Happiness and Positivity targeting all segments of the society, providing information and experiences in a simple and practical manner that contributes to the government's goal of establishing happiness and positivity as a lifestyle and cultural trait in the UAE.
