The guidelines are being regularly updated in keeping with the dynamic situation of the viral outbreak.
The municipality has issued guidelines to food establishments, including maintaining two metres distance between tables; and allowing not more than four persons at a table, except for those belonging to a family.
Sheikha Shaza Al Mualla, Assistant Director-General of the Public Health Sector and Central Laboratories, Sharjah City Municipality, said food outlets’ owners need to comply with all precautionary measures and safety protocols such as compulsory wearing of masks for all their employees and checking body temperatures of customers and workers.
Eateries must bar a customer from entry if he/she shows any symptoms of difficulty in breathing and other respiratory complications. Food outlets’ owners have also been urged to keep sanitisers in their facility, use disposable tableware and stop self-service.
