UAE Covid vaccine: 84,573 residents vaccinated in 24 hours

Vaccines being administered in UAE are effective and already yielding results.

The UAE has vaccinated 84,573 residents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

The country's Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 5.84 million. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 59.11.

The Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine has proven 94 per cent effective in a study involving 1.2 million people in Israel, the first peer-reviewed real world research confirming the power of mass immunization campaigns to bring the pandemic to a close.

Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose vaccine also offers strong protection against severe Covid-19, according to an analysis released Wednesday by U.S. regulators that sets the stage for a final decision on a new and easier-to-use shot to help tame the pandemic.
